I am a second year Junior Management major on the Business Ethics track in the College of Business Administration with a minor in Problems of Philosophy. I am from Juan Diego Catholic High School in Draper, Utah. I am a member of the Cortina Living Learning Community this year and am a CU STAR. When I am not studying I enjoy photography, watching movies, exploring Omaha and hanging out with friends. I hope this blog will give you a little bit of insight into this slice of paradise! The CCSJ (Creighton Center for Service and Justice) sponsors a different service site every day that is open to all Creighton students, they can vary from helping at a homeless shelter to tutoring kids after school.  The Mason Apartments is an opportunity to tutor and play with kids after school for two hours every Wednesday and now has been expanded to include Monday as well due to the large turn out of Creighton students at the site.  </p> <p>I had always wanted to volunteer at one of these sites, but had always been distracted by studying. My sister (she is a freshman) managed to finally give me that little needed push and I was so glad she did. At the apartments we tutor kids after school through the apartments after school homework club and then play with them for an hour. The kids had so much energy and were so happy.  Tutoring ranged from helping kids with their reading skills to basic math to helping with reports on skunks.
