New Nursing doctoral program - DNP -- Doctor of Nursing Practice

CU School of Nursing is the first in the state to offer the DNP -- the highest level of preparation for clinical nurisng practice.

Creighton is noted for innovative programs that keep pace with the ever-changing field of nursing. The DNP is designed for nurses seeking a terminal degree in nursing practice and offers an alternative to research-focused doctoral programs. The DNP is a professional doctorate, such as a doctor of pharmacy, doctor of physical therapy or doctor of medicine.

Students can apply with either a BSN or with a Master's in Nursing. I always advise students that one of their goals should be either applying to or be actively in a masters or doctoral program.

Initial blog

This is the first time I have ever blogged, so bear with me.

The School of Nursing is busy welcoming students for the new semester. The Student Affairs area has chocolate in the candy dish.

I am happily busy talking with students who need schedule changes, want to stop in and visit and need some help getting overrides into classes. I also talk with nursing students who want to study abroad.
