about me, and other random CU tidbits

Hello everyone. CAN I JUST SAY, FINALS ARE OVER??????? I am officially done with all the classes that I have been taking for the last semester. Nothing is more exciting then getting home after finals, enjoying the weekend, and then logging on early on Monday morning to check grades! Haha. But I am here, sitting in Hawaii and enjoying my new found freedom. So what do college students do over break? Mine will be full of friends, beach, work, and quality family time. Mostly work though. I hope everyone out there is enjoying their freedom and will have a good Christmas..until next semester…have good one!

Hello there!

As the last week of classes come to a close, I'm starting to really feel two very big things. One of those things is that finals are coming up, and well, enough said there. Finals really just bring the stress level right up, and no matter how many hours I put in the library, I still walk into the final room feeling like my grade is going to be a total toss up! The other very exciting thing is that in exactly one week, I will be on a plane to HAWAII. Where it is green and sunny, and nothing like Omaha. No white christmas for meRead More »

As of today, less than 2 weeks before finals are over and I will be back home! Honestly? I cant wait. Something about mom’s home cooking and the warm weather has me wishing to be home this December. I’ve actually been quite occupied since the last time you heard from me, and I’ve definitely been keeping busy.
This last week, I went to see Creighton’s dance program put on the Nutcracker. It definitely put me in the holiday cheer, and the costumes and sets were fantastic. I’ve seen many renditions of the ballet and this one was one of the better. It was also the week to finally light the mall with it’s Christmas lights and decorations. Every year the IRHG puts on a great little lighting ceremony, and while I was no ... Read More »

How time flies! We are now in the final stretch of the first semester. In a few weeks, we’ll have taken our last final and be home for the holidays. One thing that I love about Creighton is the generosity of the breaks that we get. Nothing is more satisfactory than getting home to the beach before all your pale, winter trodden (is that is word?) friends. I’m looking forward to being home and relaxing in the warm sun. Too bad for all those who have to go home to snow!
I hope that everyone had a fat thanksgiving, because I know I did. I ended up skipping my last day of classes (whoops) and flying out to LA to spend the first half of my week with my siblings who live there, and then the second half of the week with my many friends up there. We had a great time at Disneyland, and cooking up a feast toget ... Read More »

I was pondering on what to write for this week’s entry. ..and then something very interesting happened to me. Those of you who live in apartment buildings will know what I’m talking about. This year as a sophomore I live in a dormitory called Kenefick. Kenefick is apartment/studio style living with a kitchen, walking closet, and bedroom/bathroom. Well anyway the interesting thing that happened to me today as I was standing in the elevator to take it up the 15th floor (yes, that is where I live).
I was standing in the elevator and a girl came running in. she leaned over to press the button, but when she looked at the panel, she found that the floor that I was going to was also the floor that she wanted to go to. Awkward! We stoo ... Read More »

last year at Creighton, i was very lucky to have friends with cars. this year, i have been even more fortunate, because even more of them have cars! Rambling on this tangent, an environmentalist recently came to some of my classes and talked about how we can help, even if it’s just as much as refraining from throwing actual trash into a recyclable bin (come on I know you’ve all done it)

By throwing in the candy wrapper (or whatever) the people who collect the paper or plastic or glass bins are forced to throw everything away instead of taking it to the center to be recycled, because it is ‘tainted’. Throwing away a cup of soda or liquid beverage is especially terrible. The ... Read More »

hello everyone!

sorry that i have not posted for a week or two, but we were on fall break last last week. i must say, fall break came so quickly this year. for you who have no idea what fall break is, its a week long break from classes that come directly after midterms. i, for one, was glad for the break. i ended up going to kansas city for a couple days, then flying out to chicago for the rest to catch a bright eyes concert and see the sights, food, and shop!!

being from hawaii, it means a lot to me to be able to see more the of the country. my parents love to travel, and i have had the privledge of seeing many states and foreign countries, but there is something about the spontenity of going somewhere with your friends that just beats the average family vacation. my adivce to all of the people who go to school away from hawaii is this: no matter where you are, try to see what is out there. you'll never experience things to the fullest until you see more than ... It’s been a long week, complete with midterms, labs, and much more. Unfortunately it’s not even over yet, since next week is the last week before fall break (our week long break after midterms!!). This time of year always makes me glad that the library has extra hours, and caters to the students. Beware to future Creighton students, be prepared to work hard for the last couple of weeks before midterm, because it is some of the most important grades that will boost or kill you! But enough school preaching…
The weather has been pretty patchy here in Omaha and to be honest, I don’t like it very much. You wake up, check the weather, and then throw something on. By the time the afternoon rolls around you’re running to your room to add more clothes or take some off. I remember September and October being like this ... Read More »
