With the apparent cold front setting in (SNOW last saturday...what is up with that!?!?) a girl has got to keep busy to stay warm! Recently there have been a lot of things hitting my social calendar, including a trip down to The Slowdown to catch a concert this past saturday. The band featured was actually a reggae band from my homestate of Honolulu Hawaii called Pepper, and it was nice to see (and hear) some familiar tunes when out on the town in Omaha on a saturday night. A friend and I actually got asked by one of the band members to go backstage (insert excited scream here) so after about 20 plus concerts I have attended at The Slowdown, I got on the inside!!! The band members were really nice, and they chatted with us about things we both like about Hawaii and the things we miss most while being away. I have to share with you- one of the most interesting things one of the band members told me was that he missed "tako poke" which is a common hawaiian dish tha ...

You may find it strange that my first post is during mid-term week. I guess I was just excited to write something besides a paper!
I have been studying like crazy, but was able to catch a few fun events this weekend. Kappa Kappa Gamma had their chili feed and Phi Delta Theta had their annual 3v3 soccer tournament. Each were a welcomed break from the snow outside. (Yes. Snow in early October!) Unfortunately, I had to sit outside to catch the Creighton Men's soccer game against Eastern Illinois. However, it was worth it because we won 5-1. That win brought our record to 5-2-2. Now I have to make it through my pile of tests and papers this week! My fall break service trip with my fraternity is the light at the end of the tunnel. West Virginia here I come!

The College of Business at Creighton University is different. At Creighton, we not only teach business . . . we do business. Students get real-world experience outside the classroom, working for and learning at companies of all sizes, from local start-ups to multi-national corporations. Many of these opportunities are right here in Omaha. One such example shows how unique Omaha and Creighton really are.
The Halo Institute was recently featured in the Money section of the Omaha World Herald. The Institute is a non-profit organization that nurtures entrepreneurial talent. The Institute helps people turn their business ideas into reality by takin ...

For those who might be interested, I will take the time to share a little bit of my Creighton story. I’ll share my experiences visiting Creighton and how I decided that Creighton was the place I wanted to spend my college career.
By the fall of my senior year of high school I had narrowed my college search to a short list consisting of 7 schools including Creighton. During October of my senior year my dad and I took a trip to the west coast to look at schools in Washington, O ...

September and August 2009 Recaps---or Attempts to Recap!
So last month was September...apparently! Time flew by as school started the last few weeks of August, September happened, and here were are in October.
August started out with me getting back to campus around the 17th to get settled into my new living arrangement for the year. This year I am a junior and living in the Opus Apartments--which are very nice! As mentioned on my Face page, I am a Campus Health Aide for Student Health (1 of 4) and with the position came the responsibility of having to be on campus over a week before classes even started. This ...
